Challenge

Cash balances, forecast assumptions and payment approvals lived across bank portals, spreadsheets and message threads.

Solution

Vaulta created one daily cash view with connected accounts, a shared 13-week forecast and evidence-based approval workflows.

Building a dependable daily cash position

Northstar’s finance team managed accounts across three entities and three currencies. Each morning began with portal exports, spreadsheet checks and follow-up messages to confirm which payments had cleared.

The process worked, but it was slow and difficult to review. By the time the consolidated position reached leadership, the underlying balances had already changed.

Connecting the operating picture

With Vaulta, Northstar connected its primary accounts and defined how balances should roll up by entity and currency. The team now starts from a current consolidated position while keeping account-level detail one step away.

The same workspace supports Northstar’s 13-week forecast. Owners update assumptions in context, and weekly variance shows where collections or payment timing differed from plan.

Adding control without more coordination

Northstar also moved high-value supplier payments into Vaulta approval workflows. Thresholds determine the required signers, while supporting evidence remains attached to the payment record.

Finance leaders have a clearer view of liquidity, operators spend less time assembling reports and approvers can make decisions with the right context.
